Norman suggests that when using a product, our emotional state affects the utility we derive and our experience. People in positive emotional states are prone to be more creative since their thinking is more expansive and helps them in finding alternatives to the problem at hand.
A negative or stressful emotional state constricts perception and narrows down our focus to quickly find a resolutionthats how nature has programmed us to deal with threats.

Creativity and innovation are related but different concepts. Creativity involves reinterpreting something that already exists, while innovation creates something entirely new. Both require knowledge in the relevant domain. Factors that can limit creativity include a lack of knowledge, an unsupportive environment, low self-esteem, and not having a creative process or method. However, all humans have an innate creative ability, even if the ability to express it varies between individuals. Having the right environment, confidence, and process can help unlock our creativity.

Alphabetical 際際滷 Design - Ideas and Inspiration by Grace LeoGrace Leo

The document discusses poor slide design practices such as overly long titles that split audience attention, small text that is difficult to read, and inappropriate or distracting animations. It also provides examples of better design techniques like using thirds to structure slides, employing clear and simple visuals or graphs, and focusing on the key points to engage the audience.
The document discusses common mistakes made when creating PowerPoint presentations. It states that one major mistake is including all of the verbatim text you plan to say on the slides, as this means you have nothing additional to say and audiences will finish reading before you finish speaking. Another mistake is overusing bullet points, sound effects, and animated transitions as these can be distracting. The document recommends practicing your presentation and not relying solely on the slides to remember your talking points.
examples for the blog entry "5 Steps to 際際滷 Design for Non-Designers" at http://blog.slideshare.net/2008/05/21/5-steps-to-slide-design-for-non-designers-by-ellen-finkelstein/,
The document provides tips for giving effective persuasive presentations. It recommends preparing thoroughly by knowing your audience and practicing your speech. When creating slides, use simple designs with easy-to-read fonts and limited text per slide. Include visual aids to reinforce key points but keep illustrations simple and relevant. Maintain good body language by making eye contact and avoiding distracting mannerisms.
This document summarizes several key physical properties of soil: soil texture refers to the proportion of sand, silt, and clay and is estimated using feel or sedimentation methods; soil structure describes how primary particles are aggregated and affects properties like aeration; soil density measures bulk density and particle density which impact water and air movement; porosity refers to pore space between particles and influences moisture and gas exchange; consistence describes soil cohesion at different moisture levels; and soil color provides clues about drainage conditions and chemical processes from hue, value, and chroma measured using a Munsell chart.
This document provides tips for creating engaging presentations. It recommends using killer titles and cover slides to grab attention. Fonts and color schemes should be carefully selected to match the mood. Bullet points and excessive text should be minimized as they can kill engagement. Instead, the use of arresting images with sparing text is encouraged. Photos from Flickr Creative Commons, GoAnimate, Xtranormal and Second Life can provide free background images while paid stock photos provide a more professional look. Overall the tips encourage style over templates to make the presentation stand out and keep the audience engaged.

This document summarizes food losses and waste in Europe and Central Asia. It finds that in developed countries, most food losses and waste occur during distribution and consumption, while in developing countries losses are higher during production and post-harvest stages. The main causes include lack of resources and technologies, management issues, and inconsistent consumer demand and quality standards. Some countries are addressing this through public awareness campaigns, food banks, improved technologies, and support for local markets. Further options proposed include investment in upgrades, skills training, and measures to reduce losses in distribution and consumption.

A long PDF that has been used to introduce GCSE Film Students to the complicated process of identifying and explaining the use of camera shot sizes and angles. This is a fairly detailed series of slides which I have used in school for a couple of classes now. As it is a PDF the clips do not play but where possible I've labelled what the film is. Similarly, as it was designed to be used in lessons the overall 'structure' is somewhat disjointed and is missing slides that includes answers or ideas that were discussed in lessons. In order to help where possible, I've included large versions of worksheets so that these can be clipped and printed out if necessary. Many thanks for taking a look and please feel free to take a look at my other uploads as you will find plenty there on other aspects of Film Studies.
The document discusses design trends using giant pictures and provides examples of websites that use large images effectively. It highlights techniques like using transparency and animation to engage users with layered and moving images. The key considerations are to determine how images will scale and respond at different sizes, what layers will move versus stay static, and to ensure close collaboration between designers, developers, and clients when using large images.

The document provides information on using photomedia in creative practice. It discusses taking photos and creating digital images, as well as manipulating images digitally. For taking photos, it emphasizes determining the purpose and use of images, considering composition including focal points and lighting. It also discusses camera types, resolution, color casts, and lens flares. The document then covers creating digital images through scanning, as well as manipulating images in Photoshop using layers, effects, and color correction tools.
This document discusses the benefits of designers and developers working collaboratively throughout the product development process. It emphasizes establishing a shared understanding of requirements through early involvement of both parties. Design documentation should be tailored to the needs of developers to help implementation match the intended design. Issues should be tracked jointly and documentation used as a communication tool between designers and developers.

油
This document discusses redesigning public services like libraries for the 21st century. It notes that libraries now face more competition and must improve the user experience. It suggests three paths for the user experience: structural changes like ease of use, a community experience through participation and conversation, and understanding the customer journey. It recommends libraries listen to users, improve small things, meet users where they are, make the library a destination, focus on interaction and staff, and find champions to help change focus.
A storyboard is a creative planning tool used in film and game production to visualize sequences before filming. It helps plan shots, camera angles, location requirements, and other production elements. A storyboard provides reference for the editor and helps maintain continuity during production. While drawings can be simple, including relevant details helps the production team understand things like camera movement, lighting, and sound design. Proper terminology in a storyboard helps ensure everyone understands the creative vision.

The document discusses how to incorporate user experience (UX) design principles into agile development processes. It recommends conducting quick user interviews to understand user needs, creating low-fidelity prototypes to test early with users, and iterating the prototypes based on user feedback to refine the design. Conducting rapid and frequent user testing is important to iteratively improve the design and ensure it meets user needs. Adopting an agile mindset of frequent collaboration, iteration and user feedback is key for meaningful UX work.

12. THE TYPICAL SLIDE
The goal of a presentation is to communicate effectively with an audience
using each medium properly (properly = the way it works best for the audience)
If your slides look like this, you are using the visual communication medium
incorrectly because you are changing visual to written communication
Audiences will read this slide as soon as it appears on the screen
Because audiences cant read and listen at the same time, they will read the
slide first and then come back to listening to you
Because youre still on Bullet #1 and your audience has read the entire
thing, the need for you as the presenter is gone. Youll never catch up to
what your audience already knows by reading ahead

47. THIS IS A TEST... SLIDE
Here are a few additional tips to help you improve your visual design:
A great place to find images is Compfight.com. I do not use Google Images.
Compfight is a Flickr search engine. Remember to search Commercial
images because we work at Full Sail University, a for-profit college.
Templates, clip art, slideuments, and stock photos let audiences know the
following: 1) you are boring, 2) you dont care about them, and 3) you havent
joined the presentation revolution. Its time to get real!
Audiences crave effective presentations. If you dont create a presentation
with their needs in mind, you are not doing your job as a presenter.
60. Purposeless Animation
This animation has no purpose
If youre using animation
to grab your audiences attention,
your content and delivery must not be that great...
際際滷s should be simple.
Animation takes away from that simplicity.
Only use it when absolutely necessary.
